History

(Nik Brewer shown with Randy Brewer)

Brew Force Knives LLC was made a reality thanks to the original Brewer knife maker, artist, father, and teacher Nik Brewer.
Nik Brewer started making knives in 1997 in Prosser, WA after working 35 years in the Washington state carpenters union.
Nik’s interest in knife making was a natural evolution after decades of making highly skilled art such as canoes, sleighs, bows and building houses he and his families lived in.  Nik has a knack for construction that “makes sense” and has created several clever tools to streamline processes from knifemaking to getting pellets to basement furnaces!  Nik operates in a “develop and simplify” mindset which drives his pursuit of perfection with every knife he has created.
Here is a picture of Nik Brewer’s first knife.  Nik taught himself with the help of knife making book “Step by Step Knifemaking: You Can Do It!” by David Boye published in 1976.
Nik’s ability to network with local PNW businesses allowed him to source repurposed materials from local lumber mills in the PNW.  He is a master trader making swaps for materials such as leather, antlers, and high carbon metals in exchange for handmade knives and canoes.
In 2016 Randy Brewer travelled frequently to his father’s knife shop in Chewelah to learn how to make knives. With the creation of Randy Brewer’s custom knife business Brew Force Knives LLC est. in 2022 the rest is history.
